  Rafael Guevara (2007) Cuban graduate student from the Doctorate Program in Sciences mention in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Universidad de Chile. Thesis: “Diversidad genética y actividad de grupos microbianos relacionados al ciclo del nitrógeno en suelos con diferente cobertura vegetal”. Advisors: Dr. Juan Armesto & Dr. Margarita Carú. At present he is a Postdoctorate researcher at Florida International University, USA.

Thesis: “El carpintero gigante (Campephilus magellanicus): una especie carismática al fin del mundo”.  Advisors: Dr. Ricardo Rozzi & Dr. Francisca Massardo. At present she is Associated Investigador from the Universidad de Magallanes.

Thesis: “Contrastación entre medidas de selección natural y un experimento manipulativo sobre rasgos florales en la orquídea chilena Chloraea bletioides”. Advisors: Dr. Rodrigo Medel & Dr. Ramiro Bustamante. At present she is Scientific Coordinator in a CONICYT Proyect.

Thesis: “Inclusión de Aspectos Sociales en los Procesos de Conservación de la Biodiversidad en la Región de Atacama“. Advisor: Dr. Francisco Squeo. At present he is applying to a Doctorate Program at the University of  Melbourne, Australia. He won the “Becas Chile” scholarship to continue his studies.

Thesis: “Fluctuaciones vegetacionales y climáticas durante el Holoceno en un área del Parque Nacional Torres del Paine”. Advisor: Dr. Patricio Moreno.
